TAM, SAM, & SOM, otherwise known as Total Addressable Market, Serviceable Addressable Market, and Serviceable Obtainable Market are three terms often thrown around in the entrepreneurial world. Unfortunately I don’t think most people (including startup founders) know the difference between the three or why they are individually important.
Honestly, I didn’t really know the difference when I was still running companies back in the 2010’s! In short, these are all ways to size your market.
